Cost Effective Equipment Tracking
What is the most cost-effective way of keeping track of the location and condition of all your equipment?
Keeping track of every single piece of equipment in an organisation is indeed difficult. What is needed is a system in which there can be no question as to which item has been moved or loaned, who has it, and what condition it is in.
Additionally, one needs to encourage everyone to return equipment to the correct place, at the correct time, and to report any faults.
Before the advent of barcodes and computers, it was necessary to manually enter serial numbers and to assign an asset number to each rental item.
However, it is now possible to use using asset labels overcomes this problem. For example, each Dantech's ID MINI MARK label can include a serial number and/or 2D barcode thus making it possible to contain a lot of data in a small space.
These mini asset labels can, therefore, fit onto even small accessories. Furthermore, because the data is engraved into the surface of the equipment they resist chemicals and cleaning materials.
Should anybody attempt to remove these asset labels, or switch the label onto some other equipment the material will break into small pieces, thus announcing the fact that the label has been interfered with.
Dantech Mini Mark labels can be provided with white text on black or silver material with black text. For more information call us on 01354 688488 or complete our contact form for free and unbiased help and advice.

PS: Retaining a detailed register which enables you to view instantly which equipment is available, the expected return date and the condition before and after use gives a solution to the seemingly inexorable rise in the level of lost, missing and damaged equipment.
